Act for Kids is an Australian charity providing free therapy and support services to children and families who have experienced, or are at risk of child abuse and neglect. We have helped thousands of children and families for over 30 years.
Here at the Australian College of Teacher Aides and Childcare, we are proud to partner with organisations who understand the complex needs of children and at-risk youth, such as “Act for Kids”. When studying with us, you will not only learn valuable skills and knowledge for your future career, but you will also help one of the most vulnerable groups in our society. Every learner who enrols in a children protection course with ACTAC will facilitate one child participating in the “Act for Kids” protective behaviors program.

Course Requirements
To complete your Child Protection Skill Set you need access to:
- A computer with reliable internet access and a web browser
- A suitable location for work placement
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is available to suitable ACTAC learners who have at least three years relevant industry experience.
Learners will be required to complete practical tasks in the workplace to meet nationally recognised training package requirements. Students enrolling in this course must be existing workers in a suitable workplace, with access to appropriate situations involving children and/or young people.
The expected study hours is 99 hours.

Notice for Overseas Students
Please Note: Holders of Subclass 500 visas and visas that with an expiration date on or before the expected course completed date are ineligible to study with ACTAC. Any application to enrol by any holder of a Subclass 500 visa or a visa with a conflicting expiration date will not be accepted and subject to a $199 administration fee.
