Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
This course is self-paced and students have up to 12 months to complete their studies (additional 6 month extension available, conditions apply)
Australian College of Teacher Aides and Childcare
The course is made up of 18 units in total
Students will be required to undergo a ‘Working with Children Check’ and receive a positive notice and blue card

Current
Online or Distance (hard copy work books posted out to you). You will also undertake a work placement (minimum 120 hours in an approved education and care service)
Industry Requirements
Participants will be required to undertake a minimum of 120 hours of professional industry vocational placement within an approved Early Childhood Education & Care Centre for successful completion of this qualification. Professional practice hours should be treated as a guide only. ACTAC is happy to assist students in finding and obtaining a suitable work placement if required.
Studying with Us (External Mode)
Students receive a Learning Guide which includes readings, activities and assessment. This allows students to study at a time and place convenient to them. All external students have a dedicated Trainer who provides regular support as well as on the job training and assessment.
Should you undertake this childcare course of study with ACTAC you are required to complete HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting as it is a core unit, if you need to complete this unit we suggest St John Ambulance. This unit cannot be completed through distance mode and requires a face to face class to be undertaken successfully in order for students to achieve competency in this units. Because ACTAC is an online / distance educator this unit is not provided by ACTAC. Students must undertake this with a local provider at their cost and we provide a credit for this subject.
