The CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will give you insights and experience into a broad range of vital skills needed as an early childhood educator. CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is the most up to date qualification on the AQF and will give you specialist skills and knowledge that is needed to work effectively as an early childhood educator or childcare centre director.

* HLTAID012 cannot be completed through distance mode and requires a face to face class to be undertaken successfully in order for students to achieve competency in this unit. Because ACTAC is an online / distance educator this unit is not provided by ACTAC. Should students wish to complete this unit they must undertake this with a local provider at their cost and we can then provide a credit for this subject. Course Structure and Work Placement Hours

31 units in total, including 17 units for certificate III and 14 units for the diploma qualification

You will also undertake a Work Placement minimum of 160 hours for Certificate III and 280 hours for Diploma qualification.

Please note that work placements need to be taken separately

(Expected Study Hours are approximately 3151 hours).

Admission Requirements

To enrol in this course you must be:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Provide a valid USI
  • Be able to provide a suitable work placement in accordance with the work placement checklist
  • and have one of the following:
    • Australian Citizenship
    • Australian Permanent Resident
    • Must hold a visa that allows domestic study (non-CRICOS)

Learner Obligations

To complete your Early Childhood Education Dual Qualification you need access to:

  • A computer with reliable internet access and a web browser
  • A device to record video

Please Note: Holders of Subclass 500 visas and visas that with an expiration date on or before the expected course completed date are ineligible to study with ACTAC. Any application to enrol by any holder of a Subclass 500 visa or a visa with a conflicting expiration date will not be accepted and subject to a $199 administration fee.
