Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to some common questions. If you’re unsure about anything covered here, feel free to reach out.
Why are ACTAC courses so affordable?
Our core business philosophy is that education should be affordable to everyone. In the digital age, there’s no reason a Nationally Recognised Course should cost thousands of dollars. We keep costs low by operating entirely online, and reinvesting proceeds into improving our quality of service. Read more about what we are doing to help education accessible and affordable on our Social Enterprise page.
Are ACTAC courses government funded?
Government funding is not available for the courses offered by Australian College of Teacher Aides and Childcare. Our prices are extremely competitive, and in most cases are far less expensive than those courses offered with government funding.
Can I enrol while on a Student Visa?
You must be eligible to study in Australia, meaning that you need to be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or have unrestricted study rights in Australia. If you hold a student visa or a subclass 500 visa, you must first contact the college to gain approval for your studies.
How long will my course take to complete?
The time taken to complete your course depends on study level. Certificate III courses can generally be completed in less time than a Certificate IV or Diploma course. You’re encouraged to complete your course at your own pace, it is up to you as the learner as to how quickly you progress through the course material and then complete the necessary number of hours for your placement.
Each course has a maximum duration in months, which you should aim to complete the course within. Extensions are available, though extra costs and terms and conditions may apply.
Am I able to pay in instalments?
While you can pay the full fee for your course up front, and the college endeavours to keep the costs of courses as low as possible, we also understand paying up front is not possible for everyone. We offer payment plans which usually involve a deposit of $200 which includes your first week’s payment. Instalments are then charged weekly until the course is paid for in full.
