LEARNER OBLIGATIONS
All learners are required to ensure that their progression is maintained in accordance with the Training Schedule provided in the welcome email.
Where it is identified that a learner is not progressing in accordance with the Training Schedule, they will be provided with three written warnings. The final written warning may result in cancellation of their enrolment.
No refunds will be payable for learners failing to meet the obligations outlined above.
It is the responsibility of all learners to use registered post when mailing any correspondence to the College including completed workbooks and Third Party Evidence Collection Booklets and associated evidence. Learners are expected to retain copies of all correspondence with the College. The College takes no responsibility for undelivered correspondence.
It is the responsibility of all learners to source their own work placement and ensure that the provided placement resource checklist is signed by the learner and the workplace supervisor.
In the event that the facility is unable to provide all of the required facilities, equipment and resources, following confirmation by the College, it is the learner’s responsibility to find an alternative facility at which to undertake their placement. Where a learner is unable to locate a suitable placement, a proportionate refund may be offered based on the learner’s ongoing progression and completion of theory learning and/or assessment.

Australian College of Teacher Aides and Childcare
The course is made up of 18 units in total
Students will be required to undergo a ‘Working with Children Check’ and receive a positive notice and blue card

All learners are required to ensure that their progression is maintained in accordance with the Training Schedule provided in the welcome email and in accordance with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) National Quality Framework, which requires learners working towards a qualification to make ‘satisfactory progress towards completing the course’.
Where it is identified that a learner is not progressing in accordance with the Training Schedule and the requirements of ACECQA, they will be provided with three written warnings. The final written warning may result in cancellation of their enrolment.

To complete your qualification you will need to have access to:
- A computer with reliable internet access and a web browser
- Digital presentation media (e.g. PowerPoint, video presentation, infographics)
- A registered long day care Child care facility to complete vocational placement and perform vocational placement tasks under the supervision of an industry expert who holds the qualification studied or equivalent or higher.

Industry Requirements
Participants will be required to undertake a minimum of 120 hours of professional industry vocational placement within an approved Early Childhood Education & Care Centre for successful completion of this qualification. Professional practice hours should be treated as a guide only. Please note: ACTAC does not accept work placement being carried out in a family day care setting.
Studying with Us (External Mode)
Students receive a Learning Guide which includes readings, activities and assessment. This allows students to study at a time and place convenient to them. All external students have a dedicated Trainer who provides regular support as well as on the job training and assessment.
Should you undertake this childcare course of study with ACTAC you are required to complete HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting as it is a core unit. This unit cannot be completed through online mode and requires a face to face class to be undertaken successfully in order for students to achieve competency. Please note that you must complete this unit (HLTAID004) and not the superseding unit HLTAID012. As per the national training package rules, we are unable to provide a credit transfer for your course if you complete HLTAID012.
